Makerere University Kampala, Uganda

I turn everyday friction into useful software.

I am Response IRANZI, a software engineering student building practical tools for learning, work, and life in Kampala.

Selected work

Small ideas, made useful.

Four independent projects, shaped around the everyday problems they set out to solve.

Local navigation01

VisitKla

Landmark-based directions and boda fare guidance for Zone 1 of Kampala. A focused MVP built around local landmarks rather than road distances.

Community map02

Lumela

A community map for sharing and checking local power status, with reports tied to where people are.

Document workflow03

Nuru

An OCR workflow for invoice and statement data with human review. It reports synthetic and real-receipt benchmark results separately, showing how accuracy changes on real documents.

Learning tools04

studyBuddy

An AI study companion exploring tutoring, document analysis, and academic planning in one study flow.

I like software that handles the messy parts.

I study software engineering at Makerere University. Most of the work here is personal projects: things I have built to explore problems I care about, not client case studies.

Nuru extracts document data for human review and reports its limits on real receipts. Orch organizes files while making moves easy to inspect and undo. Both start from the same question: what should software do when it is unsure?

I am especially interested in practical AI, student tools, and software built for East African users. The demos and public repositories are here so you can inspect the work directly.
